Upp
frequently asked questions

Here is a list of frequently asked questions.

Here you will find answers to questions that may arise
when navigating the site. It may be about uploading audio
files, our different services, etc. Guides on how to upload
calls from the website can be found in the right sidebar on
the page.

What do
I need to provide when creating my account?

In order for us to
receive and process your order, you need to provide a full
billing address when you create your account. Alternatively, if
you are attending a course and have received a booking
reference from your supervisor, you can enter this under
Billing Address. (The booking references start with H and are
followed by a number, e.g. H123). Without this information, we
are unable to code your call.

Under Billing Address, you also
need to provide a Contact Person, i.e. the person who will
receive and pay the invoice.

Under Organization Number, you
enter the organization number for the organization or company
that pays for the coding. If you are an individual, you can
enter your personal identification number.

If you are
ordering multiple codings from your account that will be paid
by different individuals or organizations, you can change the
information you entered when creating your account when
ordering the coding for a single call.

I do not
receive a password when I order a new password

Sometimes the
email with your password can end up in your email's spam
folder. Check there and contact us if you can't find it.

I have
submitted calls for coding but have not received any feedback

Have you made a
booking? If you want one or more calls coded by a specific
date, they must be booked in advance by phone or email (see
MIC Lab's phone hours under Contact). Uncoded calls are coded
as time permits.

Have you provided your booking
reference when ordering coding on the website? When ordering
your coding via the website, you need to provide your booking
reference or a complete billing address for uncoded calls.
Unfortunately, we are unable to code your call without this
information.

What is a target behavior?

A target behavior is the behavior of the client that you as a
clinician are trying to influence in a certain direction, e.g.
'Quit smoking'.

Where can I find my coding protocol on
the website?

When you are logged in to the MIC Lab
website, you can find your protocol under 'My Codings'. There,
you can generate the protocol as a PDF document and then print
it.

I can't upload my audio file

Have you
checked that your audio file is in mp3, wav, ogg, wma, 3gp,
m4a, mp4, or amr format? If yes, have you checked that your
audio file is a maximum of 300 MB? If it still doesn't work,
it may be because your internet connection is slow. Try
again, but be prepared for it to take some time if your audio
file is large and/or your internet connection is slow.

What happens to my audio file after coding?

The audio file
is available for 60 days, after which the file is
automatically deleted from the MIC Lab web server. Research
calls are excluded from deletion. If you want your audio file
to be available for more than 60 days, you can adjust this
under 'My Audio Files'.

Consent form

The therapy
session is recorded with audio recording to be sent to the
Motivational Interviewing Coding Laboratory (MIC Lab) AB for
coding of calls. By coding the therapist's statements in the
call, the therapist's competence in motivational interviewing
(MI) is assessed based on the research-based coding
manual for MI: Motivational Interviewing Treatment Integrity
Code (MITI).

If you need consent for call recording, you can
use the form at the link below.

Ordering Coding

You can only upload audio files in various formats including
mp3, wav, ogg, wma, 3gp, m4a, mp4 & amr.

1. Go to
www.miclab.se

2. Click on 'create new account'.
Fill in all the information and then click 'create new
account'

3. When creating a new account, you
will be automatically logged in to the website

You will then
come to the 'Important to consider' page. Please review that
page before proceeding. To upload an audio file and order
codings, click on 'Order a new coding'.

When you click on
'Order a new coding', you will see an order form. Provide
details for the coding you desire.

Specify the coding
service you want to order from the drop-down list.

Specify the call
name, e.g. Per Pålson rec. no 1.

Specify where you want
the coding to start and end (e.g. 0-20 min).

Specify the call's
Changing Goal (Target Behavior) or if you are ordering coding
of client-centered calls, instead enter a reason for the visit.

If you
want specific feedback on any particular variable or similar,
you can specify this under Other Information.

Upload
an audio file

If you want to order coding on an audio
file that you have already uploaded, select 'Old file',
otherwise leave 'New file' selected. Click on 'Choose file'. A
window will open where you can browse for your recorded audio
file on your hard drive or USB drive. Once you have found the
file, click on it and then 'open'. Then click 'add' in the
bottom right corner. Make sure not to include any personal
identification information (name, social security number,
address, and phone number) in the call.

Provide
billing information

Enter your booking number (e.g.
A111) if the order is pre-booked (we will then use the address
provided during the booking for invoicing the completed coding).

If the order
is not pre-booked, check the box 'order is not pre-booked'. You
can read more about our booking rules on the website.

The billing
address is automatically retrieved from what you provided when
you created your account. If you want to change it, enter the
corrected information.

Then click 'Order coding'.

Once
the audio file has been uploaded, you will be taken to a new
page where we have summarized the information about your
order. Your order will be assigned an order number, which you
can provide if you call with questions about your order. If
you have ordered a service that requires you to provide a
printed transcript of your call, you can upload the transcript
at the bottom of this page.

When the coding is
completed, you will receive an email at the address you
provided when creating an account with us.

4. You can
find the coding protocol under 'My Codings'.

There,
you can export the coding protocol as a PDF and then print it.
When the coding is completed, you can also choose to share the
coding with your supervisor. This means that the supervisor
will have access to the coding protocol and audio file.

Click
the 'Share coding with your Supervisor' button to open a new
window.

Enter the name of your supervisor/trainer and
then click 'Share coding with your Supervisor'.

The coding is
now shared with your supervisor.
